Assessment ]1B]


       The target audience of Asda FM is the people who shop in in Asda. All different types of people shop in Asda. so Asda FM will have a big audience. This is so they can advertise
they're products to people. They reach 18,000,000 weekly listeners it is one of the biggest radio stations in the UK. Asda FM is a in-store radio station played to the shoppers of Asda.
       The purpose of Asda FM is to entertain their listeners. It is also to advertise their products and help people part with they're money. It's kind of like subliminal messaging. advertising their products to all times of people... so they have to target different people at different sorts of the day, so: After school they may advertise sweets or snacks for school kids to buy. This is so they can advertise they're products to children whom make they're parents buy the product. It manipulates them.
       The music genre changes based on when Asda think what type of shoppers are in the store at what time.    
 In the morning Asda FM plays mainstream pop. After school it plays "Disney-Style stuff" to appeal to the kids that come into the store with their parents. and at night they play Urban music and UK dubstep.
Rap/dance would be played on Saturday and Sunday night. They play upbeat genres at night for the night staff and the target audience of people who come in at night for late night snacks- Teenagers who are out or late night workers.
       I think Asda FM appeal to their audience nicely as they know when different age groups come in to their shop. they know what to advertise at what time and some people don't even realize it. almost like a different type of subliminal messaging.
